A Rare Case of Tuberculous Spondylitis with Atypical Symptoms in an Immunocompromised Patient
Main Article Content
Abstract
Tuberculous spondylitis (Pott’s disease) is a rare but severe extrapulmonary tuberculosis manifestation. This report presents a 55-year-old immunocompromised male from Russia with lower back pain, fever, and neurological deficits. MRI revealed vertebral collapse at T8-T9, and biopsy confirmed Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The patient was managed with anti-tubercular therapy and surgical stabilization. This case emphasizes the need for early imaging and microbiological confirmation in high-risk individuals.
