Abstract

Cardiac hydatid disease is a rare manifestation of echinococcosis, often leading to severe cardiac complications. This report presents a 45-year-old male from São Paulo, Brazil, who was admitted with progressive dyspnea and chest pain. Echocardiography and MRI revealed a large hydatid cyst in the left ventricle. Surgical removal was performed successfully, followed by albendazole therapy. This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of cardiac hydatid disease.
