Rare Case of Guillain-Barré Syndrome Following a Viral Infection in a Ghanaian Patient
Main Article Content
Abstract
Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is an acute polyradiculoneuropathy that can follow viral infections. This case report describes a 34-year-old male from Accra, Ghana, who developed progressive weakness and paresthesia following an upper respiratory tract infection. Nerve conduction studies confirmed GBS, and the patient was treated with intravenous immunoglobulin therapy, leading to significant recovery. This case underscores the importance of early recognition and management of GBS in post-infectious neuropathies.
